a talk on the opera by composer Louis Karchin celebrating the recent release (on August 9) of the Naxos double-CD. Mr. Karchin will speak about the work, followed by a panel discussion with James Schaeffer, President of the Center for Contemporary Opera, and soprano Jennifer Zetlan, who created the title role.
Se-Hee Jin performs music of Karchin, Harbison and Gershwin, in a program that also includes works of Tan Dun and other Chinese-American composers.
As part of the BGSU 40 th Annual Festival of Contemporary Music, this final orchestral
concert will also include works by Mikel Kuehn, John Corigliano and Evan Ziproryn.
