A concert of works written between 2018 and 2023, including Sonata-Fantasia, Two Sacred Songs, Sonata quasi un capriccio (premiere), Compositions on Canvas: Two Art Songs (premiere), and Trio for violin, cello, and piano. With Miranda Cuckson, Alice Teyssier, Marisa Karchin, Steven Beck, Stephen Drury, and the Horszowski Trio.
A Mosaic Composition, commissioned by the Network to celebrate its 40th anniversary, features contributions by 15 composers, among them, Andrea Clearfield, Eric Moe, Jeffrey Mumford, and Mr. Karchin. It is modeled on the concept of the Exquisite Corpse, a parlor game invented by Surrealist writers. Additional works by Augusta Read Thomas and Michael Hersch.
Commissioned for upcoming young cellist, Sonya Moomaw, the Fantasia is paired, by Sonya and her accompanist, Ariadne Antipa, with music by Schubert, Chopin, and Ginastera. Earlier this year, Sonya, at age 13, performed the third movement of Hadyn’s C Major Cello Concerto as soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, among several other important milestones.
2024 London Festival of American Music
Lontano, conducted by Odaline de la Martinez, presents the premiere of an arrangement of Incantation and Dances for five instruments, on the 9th Annual London Festival of American Music. The program will also include works by Fred Lerdahl, Arlene Sierra, Daniel Asia, and others.
The Eastman Musica Nova, conducted by Luke Poeppel, presents this three-movement work for 14 instruments, composed in 2009. Remainder of the program TBA.
ensemble mise-en, conducted by Moon Young Ha, presents a concert of both large-scale works and solos, including As the Circle Opens to infinity…..(revised version, 2022), Incantations and Dances (London version), Processions III In Memoriam: Kaija Saariaho (premiere), and Fanfare/ Pavane.
Pianist Marilyn Nonken presents the world premiere of Five Miniatures, on a program that includes works by Kurt Nelson, Trevor Weston, Elizabeth Hoffman, Moon Young Ha, and Kaija Saariaho.

The New York Classical Players, conducted by Dongmin Kim, present the world premiere of a new chamber orchestra work, inspired by sculptures of the Renaissance artist, Pietro Bernini, entitled Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. While espousing a contemporary flavor, the piece also references both Vivaldi and Mozart. The program features additional music by Mozart, Hadyn, and George Meyer.
